I am a photographer, business owner, avid reader, writer, family historian; I believe in life long learning.
I grew up in rural Maine; deep within me lies the quiet spirit of the rural New England landscape: pine forests, lakes, ocean, and my beloved Appalachians.
My past experiences include a post secondary education in languages, history, writing and business. I have a life-long interest in genealogy. I spent the best fifteen years of my life homeschooling my now grown and successful children. I currently run a photography based business and pursue fine art photography on the side. I love to blog about what interests me but you already know that!
In addition to my current work I am seeking opportunities to help others research their family history as I further my studies with the National Institute for Genealogical Studies. Let's unravel the mysteries of your past! My love of history, languages, and attention to accuracy and detail make up my skills in this area. I get so passionate about tracing someone's past I usually can't stop once I sit down to it. Many a meal hasn't been cooked or eaten because I've been consumed by the hunt! Or I look up and realize its 2am and I've lost track of time.
I am also seeking opportunities to mentor homeschooling families as they progress through those very important early years. This can easily be done via skype. My specialty here is helping parents and children develop a life-long passion for learning. It's also a process which involves child-led learning, flexibility and patience with each child's learning styles, fostering emotional maturity and having a sense of respect for others and the environment.
Lastly I have approximately 15 years experience in running a real estate photography business. I have weathered every kind of situation/ technology change and am still around! If you are starting out and have questions about equipment or business practices, I'm here to help! Easiest method is email or skype.
